Open World Map

The longer you’re away from something, the harder it is to go back. This has been a rough few months since the move into the new office. Work picked up and every time I though it was slowing down, another project would come along. Add on the home life, and videos just kept getting pushed further and further away.

Now that it’s the new year, I though I would be able to get going again. But I have an extended trip coming up to the other side of the world. So I’m going to use this time to get a pre-recorded video going for the Tubes, the Facepage, and the Tweeters. This would also be a good time to get the reviews going for the games that I have posted videos for but have yet to write about. I say that to myself everyday.

Anyone who says that being a successful influencer (not me yet) is easy is lying to you. This is a job just like anything else.

But I haven’t forgotten about this project. And I still try to post, go to events, conventions, arcades, and the like. So it baby steps back to my console. Baby steps through the games. Baby steps to my social media. baby steps to my recordings….

I thought that January could be the month that I get back to live streaming. Alas, I am going to be out of the country for most of the month…. in the Middle East. Of course I’ve looked into sight seeing, transportation, the US Embassy and things like that. But I’ve also already found two video arcades (maybe the only two) that are not far from my hotel. Of course, where I’m going to be, there is really only one city. And the surrounding cities are much like extensions to annexes. I think of it like Los Angeles, Tokyo, or New York. A general name to give the area, but made up of many smaller cities. I’m going to wait until I’m there to post any location data, but I’m very excited to go.

Along with that trip out of the country, I want to explore more of the arcades within the country as well. The best place to start is with what’s around me in the Denver area. Places I’ve been to before, no doubt, but I think I would like writing about them. I’m thinking at least once a month I should check out/write about a local arcade. I think the exploration and human interaction will do me some good. You know… get out of this house and this office and explore the world.

There is one other project I’m thinking of starting. And I know… if I can’t get the videos and reviews going, which is the main purpose of this thing, then why would I even think of starting a new project. But it’s still in the early stages. And it’s one that won’t take a lot of time and energy. And it would be nice to get a couple of things like that going again. But while I’ve been writing and dreading and writing the Super Mario Brothers experience, I stumbled back on the Super Mario Brothers movie. And OMG was it so good bad. So I’m think of also doing a movie night either once a month or once every two weeks, or something like that. Maybe watch parties. Maybe hosting an event for anyone local. Not sure yet. But excited to give it a shot.

That’s all for now. Thanks for playing!
Erik
